Crime in Mexico and San Felipe

It seems like every day I read a new report about crime in Mexico or I get a call from someone asking if it is safe to travel to San Felipe.
The answer is yes, it is very safe.
I know many people who regularly make the trip from California to San Felipe and have never had an incident.
Just as in the United States common sense precautions should always rule the day. When the State Department issued warnings about travel to Mexico they stated that it is safe as long as people stayed away from areas of known criminal activity.
I believe most places in California are generally safe if you stay away from areas of drug use and prostitution! The State Department warning made me wonder why such a warning isn't issued for certain areas around Los Angeles, Detroit, New Orleans or many other spots in the US.
In 2009 according to the latest FBI statistics there were 1,329 murders in Texas and almost 2000 in California.
I will still take my grandson to Disneyland in spite of the statistics.
I encourage you to take a trip with us to El Dorado Ranch. We do the driving and I guarantee at the end of the trip you will see not only how safe the drive is but you will also be guided during the trip by people that actually own property at El Dorado Ranch.

Remember we travel to the Ranch every weekend until the end of the year, excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Shrimp and Golf in San Felipe

The fall in San Felipe is marked by festivals, food and golf.
The biggest festival coming in November is the San Felipe Shrimp Festival. San Felipe is known as the Shrimp Capitol of Baja, the region is famous for the giant, naturally grown Blue Shrimp. The festival is over the weekend of November 5-7.
You can read more about it here http://sanfelipeshrimpfestival.com/.

I can help you with a free trip to San Felipe for that weekend, just send an e-mail or give me a call.

Another big event is the El Dorado Ranch charity golf tournament, this annual event on our 18 hole championship golf course raises money for the city of San Felipe's schools and charities. I would enjoy having anyone come down stay, as our guest, and join us for this event. The golf tournament is over the weekend of October 22nd.

Building My Home At El Dorado Ranch

Many people have called or e-mailed me asking about building my house in San Felipe.
Building in San Felipe was not as difficult as I anticipated, things went smoothly and changes I wanted to make during construction were never a problem.
Overall the experience was enjoyable and less frustrating then the experience of building my home in Northern California.
Anyone who wants more information regarding the process please write or give me a call and I will be happy to share my stories with you.
In the meantime I have included a link with photo's of my nearly completed house, enjoy!
